Justin Barrett delivering prepared remarks for the Houlihan Lokey 2022 Annual Global Industrials Conference

Eyesafe CEO, Justin Barrett, Presents at Houlihan Lokey 2022 Annual Global Industrials Conference

New York, New York

Today, Eyesafe CEO and cofounder Justin Barrett gave an overview of Eyesafe to a gathering of global investors and senior executives from across the manufacturing and technology sectors at the Houlihan Lokey 2022 Annual Global Industrials Conference. In his address and follow-up Q&A, Barrett unveiled Eyesafe® DTX (‘Display Technology Multiplied’) – a groundbreaking solution for the consumer electronics industry and display manufacturing sectors which the company will begin commercializing at the Computex Trade Show in Tapei, Taiwan later this month.

Barrett shared that there are now over 50 million Eyesafe products in the market – a number which reflects both Eyesafe materials and filters, such as those available on ZAGG-branded screen accessories, as well as Eyesafe® certified products that have been adopted by over 15 major consumer electronics brands including HP, Lenovo, Dell and Acer.

Eyesafe DTX is a revolutionary approach to mitigating the potentially harmful effects of blue light by combining proprietary design and application innovation with a patented materials solution that recycles blue light energy in the display backlight unit. In his presentation, Barrett walked attendees through how Eyesafe DTX, which meets the most aggressive global standards for low blue light mitigation, takes high energy blue light and, instead of discarding it, redistributes it into luminance, improving display performance and energy efficiency without sacrificing color performance.

“Eyesafe DTX entirely rethinks how blue light is handled,” said Barrett during his presentation. “Instead of managing or reducing blue light, we’re now utilizing blue light to improve the display performance. This is entirely game-changing for the industry.”

Additionally, Barrett’s presentation gave conference attendees a look ahead to where the global display industry is headed. Specifically, Barrett talked about the growing concern of average screen time – numbers that have skyrocketed since the onset of the pandemic – and the growth forecasts for near-eye devices such as AR/VR/MR. Barrett also discussed the future of smart blue light management solutions that combine hardware and physical materials with dynamic software and AI that will intelligently calibrate and personalize blue light exposure on an individual basis as it relates to environmental conditions, usage patterns, and personal health considerations.

“We believe the future of devices is not only based on performance, but it’s also based on human health,” added Barrett at the conclusion of his address.
