Eyesafe announces Dr. Steven Moe to the Vision Health Advisory Board

MINNEAPOLIS, USA (January 28, 2021) – Eyesafe, the preeminent leader in low blue light technology, standards, and research, is adding Dr. Steven Moe, DC, to the Eyesafe Vision Health Advisory Board. His expertise will further bolster a professional staff of leading ODs and MDs focused on health and vision care.

Dr. Moe, as one of the original co-founders of Eyesafe, was instrumental in researching and forming the genesis work leading to the development of Eyesafe® technology. Dr. Moe’s specialty is providing injury-related relief and healing to leading professional, college, and high school athletes. Given our eyes are directly connected to our neuro and brain system, the intake and subsequent impacts of digital blue light have material impacts on an athlete’s performance and recovery.

Significant research has been done on the exploding digital screen time in our lives, and the associated impacts on our eye-brain-neuro systems. Because our eyes are the “windows to our world”, helping us learn, work, navigate, perform, and live, they are vital to our overall health and wellness. Dr. Moe has focused on leading treatment programs to help professional, college, and high school athletes ensure their bodies are properly aligned and remain healthy so they can perform at their highest professional level.

“It’s a real honor to have Dr. Moe join our partner ODs and MDs in providing advisory services to our leading partners, customers and brands,” commented Eyesafe CEO Justin Barrett. “Amid the global pandemic, screen time – including the use of televisions and electronic devices – continues to increase at a shocking rate, and we believe it is our responsibility to put the health of consumers first; we are proud to bring our leading doctors to the forefront of these discussions to help design safe and widely adopted game-changing solutions that protect eyes at the source. We look forward to our continued work with our Vision Health Advisory Board members to drive advocacy, technology development, research and education for the industries we serve, as they stive to adopt Eyesafe® Standards and solutions in the near future.”

Dr. Moe will add depth and expertise to the Eyesafe Vision Health Advisory Board with his experience in neuro-kinesiology and preventive medicine. Additionally, Dr. Moe will be working alongside his peers on the Vision Health Advisory Board to help world class brands, such as Dell, Acer, HP, Lenovo, LG Display, and ZAGG, and leading researchers at Salus University, in developing solutions to protect our eyes and health.

“We welcome Dr. Moe to our advisory team, as we help aid the industry’s understanding of screen time and blue light exposure. Consumers will benefit from built-in blue light protection that meets the highest standards for filtering out high-energy blue light,” said Dr. David Friess, an internationally recognized optometrist and member of the Eyesafe Vision Health Advisory Board. “Having Dr. Moe’s multi-dimensional expertise in understanding human performance and health will provide additional depth, learning and professional expertise beyond the retina for us to draw upon.”
