A SleepScore Labs validation study demonstrates that CPF70 delivers measurable health outcomes the screen protection industry has never had before.
Most screen protectors protect screens. Eyesafe® CPF70 technology protects people.
That distinction matters. In a market flooded with vague “blue light blocking” claims, the screen protection industry has lacked clinical evidence that any product actually improves health outcomes. That changed with the results of a rigorous validation study conducted by SleepScore Labs — one of the world’s leading authorities on sleep science — confirming that Eyesafe CPF70 blue light filtering technology measurably improves sleep quality.
The study earned the prestigious SleepScore Labs Validation Seal, providing the screen protection industry with something it has never had: independently validated, clinically proven health benefits from a screen protector.
Inside the Study
SleepScore Labs designed a randomized, counterbalanced, crossover study — the gold standard for consumer product validation — tracking 36 healthy adults over nine weeks and more than 1,400 total nights of sleep. Participants used their iPhones at home under real-world conditions, cycling through a baseline period with no screen protector followed by a period using an Eyesafe CPF70 screen protector.
Sleep was measured objectively each night using SleepScore Max, a non-contact RF-based monitor validated against polysomnography — the clinical gold standard for sleep measurement. Participants also completed daily questionnaires and pre/post surveys measuring perceived sleep quality, eye strain, and productivity.
This was not a small lab test or a consumer survey. It was a clinical-grade study, conducted by PhD researchers with decades of sleep science experience, using validated instrumentation under real-life conditions.
The Objective Results
The headline finding: Eyesafe CPF70 is the only screen protector tested that improved objectively measured sleep quality.
Across 1,088 nights of data, participants using CPF70 experienced a 3% improvement in SleepScore (p = .026), an age- and gender-normalized composite measure of overall sleep quality, and a 2% improvement in BodyScore (p = .010), reflecting the quality and duration of deep sleep — the critical stage where the body clears toxins from the brain, supports immune function, repairs tissue, and releases growth hormones.
These are statistically significant results, meaning the improvements are attributable to the intervention rather than chance. The data also showed trends toward increased deep sleep measured in minutes (4% increase, p = .065) and a shift away from light sleep toward deeper, more restorative sleep stages.
The Perceived Results
The objective results were powerfully reinforced by what participants reported experiencing. All perceived outcomes reached statistical significance at p < .001.
Eye strain dropped by 50%. Participants rated their eye strain severity at 48 on a 0–100 scale without a screen protector and just 24 when using CPF70. This is the largest single effect observed in the study and the benefit most immediately felt by users.
Productivity increased by 33%. Participants reported feeling productive an average of 5.0 mornings per week with CPF70, up from 3.7 mornings with no screen protector. In practical terms, users gained more than one additional productive day per week.
Sleep satisfaction nearly doubled. Satisfaction ratings jumped from 41 to 70 on a 0–100 scale (a 69% increase), and the number of days per week participants felt satisfied with their sleep rose from 2.5 to 4.6.
Mornings transformed. Participants reported feeling well-rested 4.2 mornings per week with CPF70, up from just 2.2 — a 92% increase. Daily questionnaires confirmed that perceived sleep quality improved by 20%, and feelings of being refreshed in the morning improved by 24%.

What Users Said
Satisfaction was near-unanimous: 97% enjoyed using the screen protector, 95% reported less eye strain, 92% said it was better than any screen protector they had used before, and 92% intended to continue using it after the study ended.
Critically, 61% reported no noticeable alteration to screen brightness or color accuracy — a key consumer concern that CPF70 addresses through Eyesafe’s patented selective filtration approach. And 95% agreed it offered a good balance between blue light protection and visual clarity.
Why This Matters for the Screen Protection Industry
For manufacturers, brands, and retailers, this study changes the competitive landscape.
It elevates the category. Screen protectors have historically competed on durability, clarity, and price. CPF70 introduces a new axis of competition: clinically proven health outcomes. This creates premium positioning and higher margin potential in a category that has been trending toward commoditization.
It gives the industry defensible marketing claims. In an era of regulatory scrutiny around health and wellness claims, the SleepScore Labs Validation Seal and the underlying clinical data give brands a credible foundation for communicating health benefits to consumers. These are not self-reported survey results or theoretical filtration measurements. They are clinically validated outcomes from an independently conducted study using polysomnography-validated instrumentation.
It validates the CPF standard. Eyesafe’s Circadian Protection Factor rating system reflects real, measurable health differences — not just filtration percentages. For the industry, this means the CPF scale provides a meaningful, science-backed framework for product differentiation, similar to what SPF provides for sunscreen.
The Science Behind the Results
Eyesafe CPF70 technology is engineered to selectively reduce blue light in the 480–500 nm range — the wavelengths most directly associated with melatonin suppression and circadian rhythm disruption — while preserving the color accuracy and brightness that consumers expect from their devices. This is not a blunt yellow filter. It is precision light management, developed with input from the Eyesafe Vision Health Advisory Board, a multidisciplinary group of leading ophthalmologists and optometrists.
The “70” in CPF70 reflects a Circadian Protection Factor of 70, meaning the technology filters 70% of the most circadian-disruptive blue light wavelengths. The clinical data now confirms that this level of filtration is sufficient to produce measurable improvements in sleep architecture.

A New Benchmark
The screen protection industry now has clinical evidence that a screen protector can do more than shield glass. With Eyesafe CPF70 technology, it can measurably improve sleep quality, reduce eye strain, and support daily productivity — outcomes validated by one of the world’s most respected sleep science organizations.
For brands looking to differentiate in a crowded market and deliver real value to consumers, the data speaks for itself.
