Eyesafe is proud to announce that Greg Ruden has been appointed as Vice President of Eyesafe Eyewear and Optical Solutions. Ruden, a 30-year veteran of the optical industry, brings an extensive amount of experience in assisting eye care professionals to achieve their profitability and overall practice goals. Previously, he was the president of Expert Optics Inc., located in Shorewood, IL, where he led his company to an exit to Essilor in 2018.
Ruden started his professional journey at the University of Wisconsin, where he earned his B.A. with a focus on public relations for business development. Ruden’s vast quantity of knowledge in eyewear production, distribution, and go-to market strategies will be a major asset for driving business growth and sales of Eyesafe Eyewear. By teaming with industry partners and their respective customers, he will be a key factor in the success of this venture.
In past years, Ruden also worked in an advisory role for AtEase Glasses LLC., who provides therapeutic eyewear designed to reduce stress and anxiety by limiting peripheral vision and blocking blue light, thereby enhancing focus, and promoting relaxation. His talent for developing optical technology focused on consumer health makes him a passionate advocate for Eyesafe’s mission to deliver innovative solutions that prioritize digital wellness.
The optical technology development world isn’t the only place Ruden has found success, however. As executive producer of the independent film company Yale Productions, Ruden has been instrumental in the production of eight movies, each of which has had star-studded casts that include the likes of John Malkovich, Antonio Banderas, Katie Holmes, David Duchovny, Mel Gibson, and Josh Duhamel.
