R&D Display Materials Applications Engineer, Eyesafe Display

Overview
Eyesafe is looking for an R & D Applications Engineer who has experience and interest in display products, LED and OLED systems, materials science and optics.

This position will provide the candidate with opportunities to utilize their mathematical and experimental skills to build test equipment, execute laboratory experiments, work with customers to understand their technology and assist with the analysis of the materials from those experiments. Well-developed data recording, use of Excel spreadsheets, and communication skills are required in interfacing with other members of the team, development partners and suppliers.

Responsibilities
• Conduct display product tear-downs to understand structure and requirements.
• Develop equipment and methods to simulate display subsystems for experimentation with candidate display materials.
• Work with engineers to define and improve optical measurements.
• Take the data obtained from those measurements and analyze with Excel and other statistical software.
• Documenting experimental conditions and communicating results accurately that would include the writing of reports.
• Manage logistics of receiving and shipping samples from suppliers and to customers.
• Communicate with development partners describing testing and results.
• Maintaining lab including process equipment, cleanliness, and safe operations
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience of more than three years with display or LED/OLED products.
• Bachelor’s degree or greater in Physics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Strong aptitude and passion for hands-on technical work, and willing to learn advanced processing and analytical equipment
• Good acumen for instrumentation, data processing, statistical analysis and use of Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with optical analytical equipment including UV/Vis Spectrophotometer.
• Experience with LCD and/or OLED Display systems.
• Background in Color Science and Optics.
• Strong technical background with product development experience
• Skilled in customer interactions and collaborative projects
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well both in multi-disciplinary teams and independently
